In short
  • Works with Gmail, Outlook and IMAP — you keep your address.
  • Install the browser extension, then connect your account.
  • Encryption happens in your browser; toggle it per message.
  • No new inbox to learn.

ProtectMyMail is a browser extension, so getting started is quick and there is no new inbox to learn. Here is the whole setup.

1. Install the extension

Add ProtectMyMail from the store for Chrome, Firefox or Edge. It runs alongside your existing email in the browser.

2. Connect your inbox

Open Gmail, Outlook or your IMAP webmail and connect ProtectMyMail. Your address and existing mail stay exactly as they are — the extension adds a layer, it does not migrate anything.

3. Send your first encrypted message

Compose as usual. Toggle encryption on for the message, and ProtectMyMail encrypts it in your browser before it leaves. Your recipient gets a verified, end-to-end encrypted message only they can read.

4. Optional: Scan (coming soon)

Scan is a planned add-on. When it's available, incoming attachments and links will be checked for malware and phishing, and you'll be able to turn it on in settings.

That's it — you keep the inbox you already use, and the messages that matter become readable only to you and your recipient.
